Point Lonsdale and Queenscliff families came dressed in their warmest clothes to enjoy the Point Lonsdale Christmas Tree light up and carols at Point Lonsdale Primary School hall. Local primary students again stole the show with their singing and Santa entertained with his “cracker jokes” (what you call Dad jokes after the first of December…).
This year Karen Joyce from the Christmas tree organising committee had the honour of pushing the button to turn on the lights. Community volunteer Karen has been involved with organising the Christmas Tree and carols night for over 20 years, as have Rotarians Wayne Pecar and Alan Joyce. School principal Fay Agterhuis isn't far behind them with her years of involvement. The committee is auspiced by Queenscliffe Rotary and includes members from Rotary, Lions and local school and community members. The Christmas Tree is 45 metres tall and has been lit since 1952.
